Feel Good Friday: A Texas Football Player Goes Re-Viral For His Hospital Visit From Last Year and Nobody Deserves That More

It’s not uncommon for football teams to visit hospitals, or engage in some sort of community activity right before a bowl game, but this visit to a New Orleans hospital was pretty damn special for Andrew Beck. While every patient the team visited was sick, there was one particular family that was particularly unique.

I’m straight-up crying. Imagine having sick children and, on top of that, living in a world where the vast majority of people are unable to communicate with them? How many people have walked through those hospital doors unable to communicate with his kids? How many times has nodding and waving been the only form of communication between his kids and the outside world? And here comes a football player that can actually engage with his kids on a personal level? Wow.

That’s why this moment was so special and unexpected. You can actually see the moment of shock on the dad’s face when he finds out Beck actually knows ASL (American Sign Language).

Absolutely amazing.

I hope this moment continues to go viral and continues to, in Becks’ words“Spread a little bit more interest in the deaf community and raise a little bit of awareness for the things that they go through.”
