Nick Saban Made A Coaching Decision To Send His Team To The State Championship When He Was 15
I mean this is the least shocking news of all time but it’s cool to hear the story. How Nick Saban was the best coach in the game even when he was 15 playing high school football. Just 52 years of straight football strategy domination.
If you can’t watch – Saban was the starting QB (which is impressive in itself at 15) and was playing in the State Semi-Finals. Winner goes to the State Championship. (That’s how playoffs work.)
Saban’s team was down 6 with a few seconds left. He goes over to the “coach”* who told him “I don’t care what you call.”
Saban analyzed the team, decided on the best athlete, and called the play to get the ball to the all-state split end. Game over.
Saban was, and remains, everyone’s daddy.
*in fairness to the Coach, Saban credited him with teaching him the lessons he needed to make that play call. I just used “coach” because it’s questionable if anyone else can coach a team when Nick Saban is around.
PS,
Saban smashed. Look at that lettuce.
