Give Jeff Skinner All The Money
We are about half way through the season and the Buffalo Sabres STILL have not paid Jeff Skinner. Through 41 games, the Sabres forward has 41 points (28g, 13a). Skinner put on a show once again tonight for the Jack Eichel-less Sabres, who beat the Florida Panthers 4-3. Skinner had two goals in the game, both just absolute beauties
As each game and each day passes, Skinner is going to earn himself more and more money. I’m sure the Sabres have something on the table for him, but it may be time to offer him something he can refuse because he is going to cost an arm and a leg at this point.
What is it going to cost for the Sabres to keep Skinner? I think something between 7-8 million per year will get it done. But if Skinner keeps playing the way he has been all season and keeps his foot on the gas pedal, it could be more. Especially if the Sabres go on a run in the playoffs.
Guessing Skinner is just going to test free agency this summer, but Buffalo needs to do anything and everything to keep him in Western New York, because the days before Jeff Skinner were not the prettiest.
