SVP Went In On The Redskins And Skins Fans Have Bullied The Team Off Of Twitter #FireBruceAllen
Great stuff from SVP as usual. Summarized everything that it used to mean to be a Skins fan…and what it means now. And it SUCKS. I get tweets that say like “Skins suck and always have and always will” and I look at their Twitter bio and usually it’s like SUNY Cortland ’19 or something and it just hits me like a ton of bricks- kids these days don’t realize the Skins historically are a legendary, premier NFL team. We were one of those teams like the Steelers, Packers, Bears, Cowboys that you looked at as a historically great and important franchise. We won 3 Super Bowls in a decade, ’83, ’88, and ’92. RFK was one of the hardest, if not THE hardest place to play in the league.
And now? Nothing. Dan Snyder has systematically destroyed the culture of the team, the history of the team, and the fanbase of the team. We’re left to pick up the pieces and wonder when this reign of terror will end.
I’ve spent 5 years railing against Dan Snyder, and the more things change, the more they stay the same. From the Zorn bullshit, to the Shanahan debacles, to the Scot McCloughan episode, to the current rock bottom (and only sinking further), Dan Snyder has completely ruined what it means to be a Redskins fan. I hope he is embarrassed and ashamed. It was 80% Eagles fans at FedEx on Sunday, thats what Dan Snyder has accomplished. It’s actually impressive- in 20 short years he has lost an entire city and fan base.
And so Redskins fans are stopping giving Dan Snyder their money. Thank goodness. And hilariously, have bullied the Redskins off of Twitter. Seriously. Because every reply to every tweet for the last couple weeks has been #FireBruceAllen, they have just stopped tweeting.
They just think Skins fans will…forget? Too funny.
What gd circus, man. I often wonder if it will ever end, and then it gets even more ridiculous. Happy offseason!
