Egyptian Government Furious Over Viral Video Of Some Guy And His Girlfriend Doing It On Top Of A Pyramid

Source - Danish photographer Andreas Hvid recently uploaded a YouTube video of himself climbing the Great Pyramid with a female friend so she could pose for a topless photograph. Now Egyptian authorities are investigating the film.

“In late November 2018, a friend and I climbed the Great Pyramid of Giza,” Hvid captioned. “Fearing to be spotted by the many guards, I did not film the several hours of sneaking around at the Giza Plateau, which lead up to the climb.”

The video features a woman taking her top off at the pyramid’s summit, which is 481 feet tall. Hvid also included a photo of himself embracing his naked female travel companion at the 4,500-year-old monument.

The photographer’s stunt has spread on social media and has drawn outrage by locals in a predominantly Muslim country.

The country’s minister of antiquities, Khaled Al-Anani, told local newspaper Al-Ahram that climbing the pyramids was “strictly forbidden” and the racy video was a “violation of public morality.” Al-Anani also said that officials are determining whether the video is real and to prosecute authorities who have been negligent.

But Hvid says the stunt was done all in the name of his art. The photographer’s website featured photos of naked people on top of famous landmarks and buildings.

I will never understand why people commit crimes in foreign countries. The risk is legitimately never worth the reward. Remember Otto Warmbier? The guy who allegedly ripped down a poster in North Korea and was sentenced to 15 years hard labor but ended up dying after 17 months as a result of botulism? Or what about Wendell Brown, the linebacker from Ball State who got sentenced to four years in a Chinese prison for defending himself in a bar fight that someone else started? Those are slaps on the wrist in America.

You never know what kind of fucked up rules a country has or what their process is for punishing those who break them. Brown spent two YEARS in prison before he got sentenced and he didn’t even do anything wrong. The point is, if you knowingly commit a crime in a foreign country (like Andreas Hvid) you open yourself up to that country’s rules, and Egypt is NOT a place I would want to break the rules. God forbid they catch this guy! They’re probably going to chop his dick off as punishment. And he deserves it. He was sneaking around the pyramids when he shouldn’t have been, and he knew it was wrong.

“In late November 2018, a friend and I climbed the Great Pyramid of Giza,” Hvid captioned. “Fearing to be spotted by the many guards, I did not film the several hours of sneaking around at the Giza Plateau, which lead up to the climb.”

If I were him, I’d go out and buy a lottery ticket because he may be the luckiest man on earth.

PS: Sweet pic though.
