John Tortorella, The Most Common Man Coach In America, Is Currently Coaching In A Hoodie
Buddy. You ever been in a hockey rink before? It’s fucking cold in there. You think Torts gives a damn about going a little extra casual behind the bench? Hell no. Throwing on a hoodie is just step one for John Tortorella. I can guarantee you that Torts will be back there in sweatpants come the trade deadline. Maybe even sooner if he has his way. All John Tortorella is there to do is scream at refs and tell Europeans they’re a bunch of pussies. He doesn’t need to be wearing a suit to do that. Did George Washington wear a suit when he beat the British? Nope. Full blown groutfit on Gee Dub. You think they were wearing suits when we beat the shit out of Russia in the Cold War? Nope. Nobody had enough time to worry about fashion. They were there for comfort and they were there to kick some ass. That’s all Torts has in mind. Wearing a sweatshirt behind the bench is the most American thing I can think of and John Tortorella is America. Bet he might even crack open a beer for the 2nd period and crush some beef jerk.
P.S. – This wardrobe change came after Torts was wearing a blazer over this jacket. What a legend.
