Uncle Rico, a young Bob Ross, and a hopeful porn star living out of his van all had a baby and that baby is your 2018 Big 12 Champion.
But that’s what happens when you’re Texas and you play like shit. When your defensive quite literally cannot make a tackle (although apparently when you miss 3/4 tackles in a row it leads to a fumble recovery), when your extra points are blocked, when you’re handing out safeties (1) like they’re candy, when you’re penalized with a zillion yards, and when crybaby Kyler Murray gives YOU something to cry about.
Fortunately for me though, I’m no quitter. I’m straight ride or die. So, after I wipe my tears, I’ll take the positives out of this disappointing loss and look forward to Texas being back next year.
It doesn’t matter if that’s been the narrative the past 5 years, 2019 will be different. Many ranked this year’s recruiting class third in the nation behind Ohio State and Georgia, and already people have the 2019 class ranked 5th. We started the season with a loss to Maryland, beat USC, beat TCU, beat OU the first go around, and today we lost to one of the best offenses in college football in the conference championship game.
If I’m being completely honest, I didn’t expect Texas to make it this far. My expectations were big time tempered, but come next year, I’ll be riding high on ambitions and hope. 2019 will be our year. Kyler Murray will be gone, Will Grier will be gone, AND Lincoln Riley may be gone (back to Baker?), leaving the Big 12 wide open for a Texas team that will stay intact. Sam Ehlinger will be back. Tom Herman will be back. Michelle Herman will be back.
… and THEN Texas will be back.
Ok. Cool Hook Em!
