Bill Belichick's Love Of Halloween Is Incredibly Infectious
I guess this video is originally from April but I’m pretty sure this is my first time seeing it.
I’ve never been a huge Halloween guy. I think it’s something to do with growing up in New England because I never got to *really* dress up. I wasn’t Jason the Red Ranger, I was a kid in a Power Rangers mask and a Helly Hansen coat. I wasn’t a cowboy I was an old guy skiing in Colorado. Everything I ever dressed up as always ended up looking like some kind of Christmas Story crossover costume because you can’t go outside without a jacket or you’ll catch a cold. Sure I had my two years in a row where I dressed as Peter Pan or the Rocketeer every day, but that wasn’t a Halloween thing that was just a being awesome thing.
But now that I know it makes Bill downright giddy? Well, I’m a Halloween guy. I don’t have a costume yet for tonight but you can be damn sure I’m gonna go out, buy a devil or a pirate costume, and sit on my couch to watch a movie. Anything that brings out this kind of joy from a man who isn’t even close to enthused by winning the Lamar Hunt Trophy is something that you know is worth getting excited about.
They say that seeing your dad cry is a surefire way to make any man cry, but seeing Bill Belichick happy is the exact opposite: it’s a guaranteed way to bring a smile to your face.
PS – Belichick and Randy’s relationship always gets me going too. Randy was like the troublemaker in elementary school and Bill was the hardass teacher but for some reason they just got each other.
