Scherzer 2018: 18-7 | 2.53 ERA | 220.2 IP | 300 SO |
Verlander 2018: 16-9 | 2.52 ERA | 214.0 IP | 290 SO |
Price 2018: 16-7 | 3.58 ERA | 176.0 IP | 177 SO |
Porcello 2018: 17-7 | 4.28 ERA | 191.1 IP | 190 SO |

Yeah, I’d say the Tigers giving away all of their starting pitchers a few years ago came back to backfire. I honestly forgot David Price was even on the Tigers back then, but there he is. I obviously get that they could not possibly have afforded to keep all four of those guys, but how about two? After going 64-98 things are certainly not looking great in Motown. That tweet from the Tigers has resurfaced over the last few days and it’s tough not to wonder what could have been. Imagine Mad Max and Verlander leading off your starting rotation right now? Jesus Christ. Pretty Ricky ain’t a bad four and at least Price can win you some good starts in between the months of April and September. You’re going to win 95+ with those guys. Now they have no future or present, just remnants of the past and Miguel Cabrera’s remaining contract!
