If Kevin Garnett Says Things Are A Shit Storm Then You Know Things Are Bad

Denver Nuggets v Minnesota Timberwolves

The one thing I always respected about Kevin Garnett is his unwavering loyalty to the Minnesota Timberwolves. Unlike Jimmy Butler, KG was more than willing to go down with the ship and it killed him to allow the team to trade him to Boston. It didn’t matter how shitty they were, KG was as committed as they come

Some would say, he was a true leader. So naturally with all the bullshit flying around with his beloved franchise, the Athletic’s Jon Krawczynski had a really interesting sit down with the legend to get his opinion on everything. What he said I found rather interesting

“I’m just hoping they can get through this rough patch and everybody can get on the same patch and figure it out. It’s a shit storm up there,” Garnett said. “What’s really the shit storm is that can’t nobody keep shit in practice. What goes on in practice should always stay in practice. And what goes on between two conglomerates as businesses should always stay (private). Everything is so god damn public now.”

“I think both sides are a little delusional,” Garnett said. “I think Jimmy thinks his worth is a little more than what it is. He’s a very good player. I don’t see him on the (Kevin Durant) and LeBron (James) level. But if they are A-plus, he’s definitely A, A-minus.

“I don’t know if he had the power to come out and force a trade like this. He can be disruptive, but I don’t know if he actually had the clout to come out and do that. I don’t know if Jimmy has enough juice to be that.”

You going to call KG a liar? I didn’t think so and honestly I think he nailed it. Both sides are a little delusional. Jimmy clearly thinks he’s better than he is, and MIN can’t accept the fact that they are going to have to lose the trade in order to move him at this point. You don’t think KG went after dudes in practice? Of course he did, the guy is a certified lunatic, but he was also a true leader that guys respected. I guarentee you he was just as much of a dickhead in practice going up against guys, but we never heard about it like we have with Butler because A) KG never had to stage anything for publicity and B) Guys respect him because he led by example. I think part of the reason we’re hearing all this shit is because Butler is making it public as a way to get out of town. That’s not what a leader does and I think KG will be the first person to tell you that.

So in my opinion, there’s two things MIN can do to rectify this whole situation. First, they can sign KG to the veteran minimum and have him whip the shit out of Jimmy Butler in practice in an effort to restore order on the team, or more practically, they can just sack the fuck up and sell the team to KG. Glen Taylor clearly cannot keep his house in order, so maybe it’s time to bring in a guy who isn’t a punk ass bitch and will whip these dudes into shape. He’s been very vocal about the fact that he wants to own the team, he just hates Glen Taylor so he doesn’t want to be a co-owner. Find me a Timberwolves fan that wouldn’t welcome KG back with open arms and before you know it all this drama will be over and done with.

Imagine Butler ever said that shit to KG during a practice? Oh my lord would that have been something.
