An Early Look At A Script I'm Pitching
Note from the screenwriter: I don’t even know where to begin formatting this correctly. Bear with me.
INT. BOXING GYM – DAY
A shirtless man punches a bag relentlessly. Sweat beads down his face. It’s clear he has been at it for a while.
Voiceover from a rugged voiced man:
Sometimes morning training sessions… just aren’t enough.
INT. LIVING ROOM – NIGHT
The same man from the gym is now laying on his living room floor doing sit ups as the TV plays in the background.
Voiceover from a rugged voiced man:
Sometimes one extra set… just doesn’t do the trick.
EXT. SNOWY DRIVEWAY – DAY
The man is now jump roping out in the snow in a full sweatsuit. Snow sprays as the rope hits the ground. His breath fogs in front of his face
Voiceover from a rugged voiced man:
Sometimes being stronger than the weather… just isn’t strong enough.
INT. ARENA – NIGHT
The man is in his corner of a boxing ring preparing to fight. He bounces around throwing quick warm up punches. His coach is in his ear giving him last minute advice. The crowd is screaming behind him. He drowns it all out, looking onward, steadfast. Cameras flash white light.
CLOSE UP of him touching gloves with his opponent. The fight begins.
He immediately takes a huge right to the face and falls flat to mat. He is absolutely incapacitated. Concussion for sure.
Cut to a shot of his opponent. He is 6’2″, 250 pounds wearing a cutoff t-shirt, blue jeans, and work boots. It is Travis Turman.
Text on the screen with rugged man’s voiceover: Wrangler. Real. Comfortable. Jeans.
