Shocking News: Joey Bosa's Timetable Was Pushed Back

(Sporting News) “Bosa said Wednesday he’s hoping to avoid surgery with his treatment plan, but he isn’t expecting to return until Week 9 for the team’s game against the Seahawks, according to the Los Angeles Times.”

So are you trying to tell me that the Chargers training staff botched an injury recovery??? This has to be a historical first! He was initially reported to have hurt his left foot on August 7th, and it was “nothing serious”. Coach Lynn said he would be “absolutely” ready to go by week one as recently as August 25th. He then re-aggravated the injury in his first practice back ahead of the season opener vs Kansas City.

He told ABC30 “I knew out there I wasn’t ready to go, I thought maybe if I could get through that week without pain I maybe could be ready, but I think it’s honestly a blessing that I hurt myself like that, because if I would have went out on game day I would have destroyed my foot, and we wouldn’t be having this conversation right now.”

It’s a really killer blow to the defense, but luckily they’re done with the Rams and Chiefs, two of the highest octane offenses in the league. They have the 49ers, Raiders, Browns and Titans coming up, and only Oakland is in the top 15 for total offensive yards. In fact, the Titans, Raiders, and Browns are 30th, 28th, and 20th overall in total scoring. Hopefully they can scrap together some more pass rush in Bosa’s absence.
