John Beilein Is Definition Of Basketball Tough

What, you thought football guys were tough? Absolutely not. John Beilein is basketball tough, which is the toughest of the tough in my book. After undergoing double bypass heart surgery he was expected to miss some time. But, not so fast.

John Beilein is going to be on the sideline during the exhibition games. He’s already back coaching. He’s someone who won’t miss any time because frankly, he’s too great of a coach not to. I mean look at this line from him:

“I can’t throw a chest pass. I can’t yell yet,” Beilein said. “But I expect to be able to do that.”

You know it’s killing him that he can’t yell. It’s probably killing him that he can’t even throw a chest pass. You don’t become one of the 5 best offensive coaches in the country without the ability to throw a chest pass. No word on if he can throw a bounce pass or not yet. I bet he can throw a bounce pass, which is the better of the two passes anyways.

Beilein has been the Mike Conley of college basketball coaches. He was consistently talked about being underrated and then made a couple of title games and runs during March. Now, everyone talks about Beilein as a top-10/15 coach in America, which he is. For that reason, I’m excited that Beilein is able to coach. The changes he’s made in terms of hiring guys to focus strictly on D like a D-coordinator he can further enhance Michigan’s offense.

Can’t wait to see him, sleeves rolled up, yelling his ass of on the sidelines again. College basketball is better with Beilein out there.
