Canadiens' Jacob de la Rose Shows Us That Even For NHL Players, Training For The Season Is A Pain In The Ass
Do you get it? Because “pain in the ass” is a pretty common phrase that is typically used in a more figurative sense. However in this particular instance, I’m talking about it in a literal sense because Jacob de la Rose took a resistance band straight to the ass. So the exaggerated literalness is the joke here. It takes a certain level of intellect to truly appreciate it so don’t feel bad if you didn’t fall out of your seat in laughter, you’re just an idiot.
Now while Jacob de la Rose is clearly at the focal point of this video, the true star here is behind the camera. That laugh your hear in the background, of course, belongs to de la Rose’s fellow countryman and good pal Filip Forsberg. Not only is he the star for capturing the whole thing and keeping the camera rolling even after the initial carnage, but you can tell that Filly Forsberg is a true friend here. Because if Forsberg was merely an acquaintance of Jacob de la Rose, he wouldn’t have been laughing his ass off like that. There are very few things in this world that bring you more joy than to watch one of your boys writhing in pain. Obviously this is under the assumption that the injury isn’t anything too serious and it was done in a rather… idiotic fashion. Like I wouldn’t be laughing my ass off if one of my buddies got hit by a car or something like that. But to see him get whipped in the ass by a resistance band? That’s funny. It’s on the same level as seeing him take a shot to the nuts or something like that. Real friends will laugh at those situations and will continue to add insult to injury by making sure the camera stays rolling as long as possible. If Filip Forsberg was just training with Jacob de la Rose for the day and that was the most amount of interaction they’d have, he’d probably cut filming right away and make sure to see if he’s okay. But not a friend. Not a pal. A pal will laugh at you while you can’t even stand up because your ass hurts that much, will probably laugh at you some more on the car ride home after remembering how funny it was initially, and will make sure to tell everybody about it.
