Browns Coach Bob Wylie Lights Up Hard Knocks; Confirmed Huge Football Guy

My ‘Hard Knocks’ Episode 3 recap will be up tomorrow morning, but I couldn’t wait until then to write a few words on the great Bob Wylie.

Wylie is the 67-year-old Offensive Line coach for the Cleveland Browns who has become a star during the first few episodes of ‘Hard Knocks’. In the first episode, Wylie made a Helen Keller joke but wasn’t really heard from much after that.

I knew Wylie would eventually be back and it only took two episodes for his triumphant return. With a blaze of glory, Wylie burst back into our ‘Hard Knocks’ lives with a rant about stretching and why he does not believe in it.

Everything about him just screams “football guy.” Most importantly, “football guy” expert Big Cat chimed in and declared Wylie to be a massive “football guy.”

The stretching rant wasn’t Wylie’s only moment in the sun during the latest ‘Hard Knocks’ episode, as he had a whole other scene involving animals’ center of gravity and teaching his offensive lineman how to play better.

Big shout out to a high school friend of mine, Spencer Drango, for just busting out laughing during this whole animal ordeal.

I wouldn’t have been able to contain myself if I was in that meeting room listening to Wylie go off with his thickly-accented jokes. Also, the ex-mother-in-law comment is a classic old guy joke that will get a laugh almost 100% of the time.

Hold on a second, because I almost forgot to mention the fact that Wylie drives a fucking white Maserati.

Oh, you thought he would just show off the car? No, he included a well-timed pop culture reference to lace into his charm and earn some more laughs.

The best part about Wylie is something that ‘Hard Knocks’ hasn’t really even had the chance to touch on yet: he is an amateur magician!

We only have two more episodes of ‘Hard Knocks’ left this year and that seems like plenty of time for Wylie to show off his David Copperfield side. Regardless, Wylie gave us one of the better ‘Hard Knocks’ moments in recent memory tonight. I might be biased as a Browns fan, but I think this is a top-notch season of ‘Hard Knocks’. Tomorrow morning I will have my full recap of a fairly jam-packed third episode.
