Vlad Guerrero Jr. Has Homered In Four Consecutive Games

Just some casual dingers on a Saturday evening for the kids at home. If the Blue Jays don’t call him up for at least September everyone in that front office should be jailed and also Vladdy Jr. should be set free onto the open market. Some may say that’s too extreme but it’s what feels right in my heart.

Coming into tonight’s game, Jr. was hitting .433/.538/.800 with an 1.338 OPS in his first 10 games since being called up to AAA. (So far tonight all he’s done is go a measly 2/4, raising his average to .441 over 11 games.) All improvements over what he showed at AA where he only mustered a paltry .402/.449/.671 slash line over 61 games. With the Blue Jays THIRTY games out of first place, calling up Vladdy Jr. when the rosters expand may instantly make them the most watchable team in all of baseball for the month of September.
