Oakland A's Outfielder Ramon Laureano Played Hero Ball In His Amazing Major League Debut

Some pretty cool stuff out of Oakland last night. Outfielder Ramon Laureano made his major league debut for the A’s, playing centerfield. His AAA manager told him he got traded initially in an awesome video where you see Ramon wanting to die and then being so relieved in a matter of seconds.

Ramon started in centerfield and batted ninth last night for the red hot A’s, who have seemingly gone with the strategy to never lose again. It’s a bold one, but it works. The game went scoreless until the 13th inning when Laureano took over. Jose Iglesias stole second and tried to advance to third as the ball trickled into the outfield. That’s when Laureano unleashed a fucking hose to nail him at third.

I mean that had to be a perfect throw to nail Iglesias and it was. Right on the money. Despite missing 42 games this year, Laureano led the Pacific Coast League with 13 outfield assists. That’s insane! The dude has a cannon.

Even though throwing out a runner in extas would have made for a great major league debut, he wasn’t done there. In the bottom half of the inning he came up again with the winning run on second and two outs. Laureano corked a gap shot for his first ever hit and a walk-off for the A’s. Unreal.

You could not script a better debut if you tried. I would murder for that moment. Murder. He was mobbed by his teammates and then assaulted during his interview with Dallas Braden. Awesome stuff.

Have a goddamn day sir.

The A’s are a problem. They’re 65-46 and beat everyone in sight. At this point the Yankees will have to play them in the wild card game and that terrifies me. Even worse, they could very well steal the AL West and have Houston as the wild card team. It’s all bad for New York.
