This Footage Of "Fire Tornados" Tearing Through Northern California Is Absolutely Insane

Business Insider — The Carr Fire tearing through Northern California is so powerful that it’s creating its own weather patterns — and it’s producing what some scientists are calling a “fire tornado.”

The fire is what’s known as a “plume-dominated” blaze. That’s when the fire’s column of smoke and ash is so large and hot it can control the path of the blaze and even create local wind and temperature differences, reports The Los Angeles Times.

This fire is creating its own weather patterns? Creating fire tornados? Holy cow. Here’s yet another reminder that mother nature is the most powerful beast in the universe and always will be. More than a thousand buildings destroyed and several lives lost. It’s awful and the footage is just shocking. Hard to even imagine that this is a real occurrence happening to our friends in California. Ts & Ps with everybody out there, especially those risking their lives fighting this thing. Just crazy and terrifying.
