Manny Machado is Teasing the Fuck Out of the New York Yankees at the All Star Game and It's Not Fair

Ugh. Last night I had accepted the fact that Machado was heading to Philadelphia. The Phillies have reportedly upped their offer and gone all in for the prized shortstop/third baseman. Today we got wind that a “handshake deal” is in place and the official word will be announced on Wednesday. Then we got conflicting reports saying it’s still wide open and the Yankees are still in the runing. No one knows anything about where Machado will end up, other than the fact that he most definitely has played his last game in an Oriole uniform.

Then as I’m leaving work today, Aroldis Chapman drops this Instagram post…

Gleyber, Sevy, and Chapman all surrounding the man of the hour. They want him in pinstripes. Manny wants to be in pinstripes. It’s not a matter of if, but when. If we have to wait until 2019 then so be it, but he’s coming here.

Then a few moments later we get Machado on the MLB Network pregame broadcast with his nephew. They asked his nephew where he would like Manny to end up….his answer won’t surprise you.

Manny’s nephew should be expecting a fine for tampering by commissioner Rob Manfred very shortly. Son of a bitch. Look at Manny’s facial expression after that answer.

He just wants to scream, “YES, I DON’T WANT TO GO TO PHILLY! GET ME TO THE BRONX RIGHT NOW!”

I don’t need this! I had moved on last night. Cashman isn’t going to offer his big guys in a deal just to have Manny 3 months earlier. Now I’m being roped back in and my heart is going to break when the Phillies news breaks in the next few days. I hate being teased, but I’m falling for it.
