LeBron James Is Officially A Laker

BOOM!! There it is, it really happened. LeBron James is officially joining the Los Angeles Lakers. We all knew this was the most likely scenario, but after some flirtation with the Sixers today it ultimately didn’t make a difference. For the first time in his career LeBron will head to the Western Conference and I for one could not be happier. Now, this obviously means something else is about to drop. LeBron doesn’t sign a 4 year contract without knowing he’s getting some help. Whether that ends up being Kawhi or Boogie we’ll just have to see. Give Magic credit, he shot his shot, promised to bring in superstars, and he brought in the biggest fish of all.

It’ll be interesting to see what this also means for some of the young talent on the Lakers roster, especially ones like Julius Randle. No chance the Lakers are going to have space to match him now, especially since LeBron is not going to be the only piece. It’s an interesting choice by LeBron, knowing that the West is fucking stacked and he had a pretty easy path to the Finals if he had stayed in the East and joined maybe someone like Philly. But this just goes to show you that The Process is a fraud and they now are looking like they’ll have all this cap space and no one to spend it on.

I never would have guessed that one day we’d see LeBron rock the purple and gold, but now that it’s official I’m glad I can add him the to rivalry. Let all the good teams in the West beat up on one another, things just got a whole hell of a lot easier for the Celts, and at the end of the day that’s all I really care about.

So congrats Magic, congrats to Lakers fans, it’ll be nice to have you back on Twitter, but sadly you’re still not as good as the Rockets or Warriors.
