Gordon Hayward Is On Schedule To Be Ready By Training Camp

Boston Celtics vs. Cleveland Cavaliers

So maybe that whole 3/23 thing was a little aggressive. I think we can all admit that now. Good news is, everything is looking like Hayward is on track to be fully healthy by training camp, and I can’t lie that brought a smile to my face when I first heard it. Which is weird because why wouldn’t he be fully healthy considering the injury would have happened almost a full year prior, but even still I’ll take any and every little bit of good Hayward news that’s out there. Here’s what my new best friend Danny had to say about Hayward this morning

OK so hearing this whole thing about a little pain and removing hardware triggered me a little bit seeing as how we just had this happen with Kyrie and that became a disaster. I know, I know completely different injuries and situations and all that but I couldn’t help it.

With this great news coming out, I wanted to touch upon something I’ve been seeing on Twitter over the last few days and that is this idea that the Celtics are actually better without Hayward, and that they should move him this offseason as to not mess with Jaylen/Tatum’s minutes and production. My good friend Danny talked about this in his exit interview

I don’t blame some Celtics fans for thinking this way, perhaps they didn’t want much UTA basketball last year, and seeing him make that little jumper in the Celts first game wasn’t enough to convince them just how good Hayward is. Let me take the time to remind you he is EXACTLY what this team and system needs. A good sized two way player who can play off the ball, can run the offense, can score off screens and spot up. A guy who can guard multiple positions and is an All Star level talent. Oh and he’s the love of Brad’s life so I’m pretty sure he’s going to find a way to use him. Personally I’m of the belief that the more All Star level players you add to your team, the better it not only makes you as a group, but individually. Guys like Jaylen/Tatum are going to have a MUCH easier life when they share the court with Hayward. If you ask me, Brad’s going to go with the 2K lineup I use of Kyrie/Jaylen/Hayward/Tatum/Horford. Essentially what we saw on Opening Night this past season. Tell me that isn’t the best starting lineup in the East next year given what we know right now. You can’t.

But don’t take my word for it, watch it for yourself. This is the type of stuff coming our way in just a few months. It’s OK to start getting excited already, I’ll allow it
