I Followed The Caps To Vegas

This is really surreal. Right now I’m typing this blog from the Aria in Las Vegas, and in 3 hours the Capitals are playing game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final. If you told me 10 years ago I’d be typing something like this, I’d call you a bold faced liar, mostly because Vegas didn’t have a team yet, but also because it’s just so crazy.

And let me say this- There are Caps jerseys EVERYWHERE. An overwhelming, shockingly large amount. I expected to see some, but not this many. When you think about it, it makes sense. There are so many people who have waited SO LONG for this. All the Caps fans my age who were too young to go 20 years ago who now have some money saved ponied up for this opportunity.

I don’t even know if I’m going to the game. I just know I’m here. And it’s better to be here than not be here. Not to drink. Not to gamble. Not even to play poker. But to will the Caps to victory. A pure business trip. Just really awesome to be here. Good things seem to happen whenever I’m here, so I feel really good at the moment. #CapsYear
