Minnesota Rejected The Option To Have A Night Game Against Penn State

This may have flown under your radar, but Minnesota is 8-0. Yes, in football. Once you look at their schedule it makes a bit more sense, but they've been dominating Big Ten competition, outscoring Purdue, Illinois, Rutgers, Nebraska, and Maryland by a combined 127 points.

The Gophers schedule gets much tougher after this week's bye week: Penn State, Iowa, Northwestern, and Wisconsin. November 9th against Penn State will be the biggest college football game in the state of Minnesota in god knows how long. You'd think that the Gophers would like to have that game at night in the brisk Minnesota cold. I thought that. Turns out I was wrong:

An interesting decision by Minnesota's AD. I would've done everything in my power to have that game at night, however, I'm not a Big 10 AD.

Minnesota currently is a 6.5-point home dog to Penn State. That line looks just right to me. They'll kick off at 12 noon in Minneapolis and their game will be followed by the game of the season: Alabama - LSU. It's the first time that two games featuring 8-0 teams will happen on the same day in AP Poll history.

Strap in folks, college football is about to get gooooood.
