It's Official: There Will Be NO HEADGEAR In Rough N Rowdy 10

I know this is a weird thing to be thinking about at 10:00 AM on a Saturday, but I don’t care. Having headgear is the single biggest regret of my Rough N Rough N Rowdy experience other than tearing my labrum two days before my fight. Which in turn made me look like Big Bird on the canvas, but that’s neither here nor there. Rough N Rowdy 10 has officially scrapped the headgear and that’s a big deal. Why? A couple reasons. First is because it means we’re going to see knockouts. It doesn’t matter how tough you are, if you get punched in the face and you aren’t expecting it (they won’t be) you’re going down. These guy’s don’t know how to play defense. They aren’t professional fighters- they’re midgets, construction workers, fishermen, ex-cons, etc.. All around New England trash who want nothing more than to knock out their opponent.

It also means that the stakes are wayyyy higher for our fighters in terms of pride. When you go out there without headgear, everyone knows exactly who you are. You’re identifiable. Your face is on the jumbotron and it’s being broadcast to tens of thousands of people across the country. Not to mention the thousands in the arena. No one wants to be embarrassed on that level. Reputations are on the line. There’s one week until this whole thing goes down in Providence and I can’t wait.  Here’s how you watch:
