Group Decides To Go Whitewater Rafting Without A Tour Guide, Immediately Gets Swept Over A Massive Waterfall

First of all, stop saying the waterfall was forty feet- it was 15 feet at most. Second of all, let’s not give them too much sympathy considering they made every wrong decision a group can make while going on a rafting trip.

GMA felt bad about how stupid they were so they didn’t include the word “three” in the graphic, but to be clear, they missed three warning signs telling them they were headed towards a waterfall. How? I have no idea. But it doesn’t take away from the fact that these buffoons are lucky to be alive. None of them even suffered an injury. Here I am thinking that life jackets were nothing more than an old wives’ tale, but apparently not.

Regardless, I’ve never gone whitewater rafting and after seeing this video I never will. Whether you have a guide or not, the risk isn’t worth the reward. Besides, there are plenty of other ways to have fun outdoors that don’t involving the risk of violently drowning with a group of your closest friends. Riding bikes, shooting hoops, laying in the sun. Whatever. I’m glad everyone is okay. Let this be a lesson to all the outdoorsy people out there that if you go on a rafting trip, spend the money and get the guide. It’ll probably save your life.

PS: Ever seen The River Wild? Definitely worth the watch if you have the time…
