Enes Kanter Gets So Many Death Threats From Turkish People He Has To Sleep With A Panic Button That Alerts The FBI

Not once did they ask if he was taking the threats seriously, and before they left, they installed a device next to his bed. “If you’re uncomfortable with anything, just push that button,” they told him. “If you hear something you don’t like or have a reason to believe there’s a threat, push the button and someone will be here within minutes.”

Jesus Christ this story keeps getting crazier and crazier. Kanter is viewed as a terrorist in Turkey because he doesn’t support the government there. Think about that for a second. Think about how much people have bitched about Trump/Obama. No one is seriously called a terrorist because of that.

But, to have a panic button next to your bed? Not even just a panic button. One that alerts the goddamn FBI about serious death threats or potential death that’s downright scary.

Things have been WILD over the last few years if you’ve followed Kanter vs Turkey. His dad was arrested. They don’t broadcast his games in Turkey or ever mention his name. He can’t talk to his family. They revoked his passport and are trying to throw him in Turkish jail. He couldn’t travel to London or Toronto for games for fear of death and not being able to get back to the United States. And those are just a few examples.

I don’t know if I’d ever get a good night’s sleep with a panic button right next to my head. I mean what if you hit it on accident? People move around in their sleep all the time. What if you got trigger happy and hit it if you hear commotion outside and it’s just some animals?
