Paul Pierce Gives Away Celtics Tickets To Tonights Game Via Twitter

Paul Pierce meets Twitter users

Reader Email

This morning I received an email from a buddy saying that Paul Pierce (@paulpierce34) was now on Twitter and he was going to give away tickets to the first 5 fans to meet him at the player’s entrance of the Garden. The only catch was that you had to be wearing a Paul Pierce jersey, and you had to say the password, which was “Truth”.

From @paulpierce34

aight on my way to arena b there at 430 with my jersey players entrance free tiket to game only got 5 left hurry up passcode is truth

At first I wasn’t going to go, as I figured I’d be standing there with a couple other saps while someone took a picture of us and posted it on Twitter with the caption “Look at these suckers”. Not the case.

When I arrived there was already a group of five fans, which quickly grew to about ten. Almost exactly on the dot at 4:30, a Range Rover with California plates and tinted windows pulled up. The window rolled down and Paul Pierced asked us what the password was. Everyone shouted “Truth” and he started dishing out tickets.

It got slightly chaotic as there was no real line to get a ticket. The crowd just closed in on the Truth and people started reaching out for tickets. Luckily, I was able to score a ticket and will be heading up to the Truth’s suite in about an hour.

So if you were wondering, yes, Paul Pierce is on Twitter.

I don't fucking get it.   I really don’t fucking get it.  Like I said last week Twitter has gone from something I never heard of 2 weeks ago to on the verge of taking over the fucking world now.   And I’m still sitting here with a thumb up my ass yet to join the revolution.    I mean if Paul Pierce is giving away tickets via twitter to tonight’s game then I should at the very least be giving away free t-shirts every now and again.  Although on second thought I don’t want to cause a riot.  I mean imagine the chaos this would cause if people saw the Astrovan rolling down the street with free Straight Cash Homey shirts piled to the roof.  Bitches would get trampled and shit….

PS - I like the way Paul Pierce spells. My kind of guy

- Thanks to Mike for the great tip

El Pres “I Never Lose 8 In A Row” Mortal Locks

Ok so after losing two nail biters yesterday I’m on the threshold of doing the impossible.   That’s right.  Going 0-8 since the start of Sweet 16 round.   Now granted I’m still 16-14 in the tournament so if you took all of my picks from the beginning for a dime each you could still take the little lady to the Oak Room for a fancy steak dinner and have enough left over to buy a couple t-shirts so I’m not sure what all the bitching and moaning is about.  Sure, we had some tough breaks yesterday, but I say this with 100% confidence.   I’ve never lost 8 straight college hoop games in my life.    So get jacked and pumped because here comes to blowout winners from the Pres.  You can thank me tomorrow.

s

MSU vs. Louisville -5.5

I think Louisville wins this game.  I think Michigan State keeps it close.   Is this stupid?   I mean if I think Louisville is going to win should I assume they’ll hit enough free throws down the stretch to cover?    I don’t know what to think anymore.  Maybe this losing streak has gotten into my head after all.   Don’t think just throw…..I’m the one driving the astrovan…

The Pick – MSU

tyler

Oklahoma vs. NC -7

Finally a game that I love!    I’m going to put everything that I’ve lost on the last 6 games on Oklahoma here.   This is a flat out pickem for me.  Blake Griffin is too strong, too physical, and too mean for a pussy ACC team like North Carolina.    In fact, don’t be surprised if Griffin actually dunks Tyler Hansbrough during the course of this game just to prove a point and Hansbrough gets called for a foul.    Not only do I like OU to cover but I like them to win and join the rest of the Big East in the Final Four.     And hopefully after this tournament is over the NCAA will take a long and hard look at possibly stripping the ACC of their automatic bid to the conference tournament winner since clearly they don’t deserve it.

The Pick - OU

Statistically OU is an awfull pick

MrBator, Mar 29 2009, 1:16 pm

Dear the president -
While the rest of the ACC looked like JV girls softball teams in the tournament this year, UNC is far and away the best team the conference has. Your comment yesterday about them not even being a bubble team if they were in the Big East was idiotic. The fact that they beat Gonzaga by 21 wasn't an accident or stroke of luck. Oklahoma is going to lose today. And if Lawson continues his tourney MO, it might just be a blowout. I seriously hope you're not betting this game big today, cuz the first lady will be eating ramen and powdered milk for dinner if you did.

Sincerely,
John Swofford

downsouth, Mar 29 2009, 1:18 pm

I've got Louisville -5.5 and OU -7. Mich St has no one who can score. Louisville blows them away. NC wins this one...they might even win by a huge margin. OU is very inconsistent the last month.

Jayhawk98, Mar 29 2009, 1:24 pm

UNC wins this one easily. Horrible pick.

TeamFingerBlast, Mar 29 2009, 1:26 pm

Except when you go 0-11 in the NFL playoffs.

rhapsody, Mar 29 2009, 1:28 pm

After years and years of talking about sports, something you know absolutely nothing about you finally talk about something you are an expert on "being a pussy". You and the ACC are mirror images of each other.

Courtsdad, Mar 29 2009, 1:29 pm

Sports gabmling is staistics and patterns, it is 100% not what you think.. "i think this, i think that".... I have seen about 100 of your picks when i occasionally check this site and they are randon and nonsustained.. I gaurantee you in the long run you and anyone following your picks will loose money if you continue wagering this way.. I am sure kids follow these picks, they just dont understand gambling and will take picks from someone like you who they may consider to be a sports expert.. Do these people and youself a favor and get the basics and a concrete plan forumaled.. Stop looking for simple answers to complex problems and start doing your research.. I can send you a basic startagy guide with some good stuff if you or anyone else in here is interested...

and if anyone here is still averaging -110 they are CRAZY

MrBator, Mar 29 2009, 1:31 pm

TRAPP, you're awful. Just quit. You had Pitt yesterday and have lost far more than you've won this tournament. Just shut up already.

HartfordWhaler, Mar 29 2009, 1:40 pm

When are you guys going to stop taking this site so seriously and lay off the prez? I mean you have to be an idiot if you follow this site and place your hard earned dollars on all of the prez's picks. You have to not take him so seriously because this site is for entertainment and I dont think our prez has ever claimed that this is a serious sports site. I'm pretty sure he gets off making these picks and laughs when he reads the comments section because everyone is going crazy about how stupid he is. Get a life everyone and stop being so serious.

SouthQuadAlum, Mar 29 2009, 1:48 pm

When was the last time the "Big Ten" won the national championship?

Attack of the mush part IX and X - return to mush kingdom.

DoubleDown, Mar 29 2009, 1:52 pm

Where in the hell are you getting Louis at -5.5? All books have either -7 or -6.5.

dixontuphar, Mar 29 2009, 2:05 pm

Blake Griffin is an amazing athlete, but can he really play basketball? I don't think so. He can't shoot, can't handle the ball that well and is an average shooter at best. Is this what basketball has become? Guys who just know how to dunk? 30 yrs ago they had Bird and Magic in the final, those guys were 20 times better than any college player today no matter how you rate them.

langdon1975, Mar 29 2009, 2:09 pm

Nooooooooooooo! Immediately change your pick to Louisville. Or because you said you think UL wins does it still mean you mushed them? This is terrible.

DetroitRed, Mar 29 2009, 2:10 pm

And dixontuphar is right. Almost every book has Louisville -7.

DetroitRed, Mar 29 2009, 2:13 pm

— langdon1975, Mar 29 2009, 2:09 pm

You are right on the money! Basketball has become all about the dunking and the And 1 dribbling and passing.... I love it when a guy can do a 360, between the legs, blindfolded dunk, but can't hit a free throw to save his life.

obama_luvs_KFC, Mar 29 2009, 2:16 pm

EP--

all you have done is prove you are decent to pretty good at picking "gimmies" like 1-16 games or 3-14 with the occasional 1-8 or 4-5 thrown in to balance the ledger...., while now that you are dealing with good teams and tougher games, you show little to no ability to win at a profitable rate...

coachk25, Mar 29 2009, 2:24 pm

Coach K,

Please read my other post from above.

SouthQuadAlum, Mar 29 2009, 2:29 pm

SQAlum--

This site/paper was built on gambling in many ways and while the money may/may not be fake, his "picks", I think, are what he truly thinks is going to happen---his comments (re: UNC is a Big East bubble team at best) clearly are for fun and provocation, and like I said, EP and many of the "bettors" may or may not be using real money, but his final pick is that of someone who thinks he knows what he is doing

coachk25, Mar 29 2009, 2:50 pm

It's hard god damn work being this right...

elpresidente, Mar 29 2009, 4:01 pm

L'ville just gave up. Who would of thought Izzo, the Bosnian, and this rag tag group would be playing like this? I sure as hell didn't.

WildBill86, Mar 29 2009, 4:15 pm

love the ou pick. that is definitely a game where the average shitdick better will take unc despite the outrageous spread.

http://www.makingeggs.com/

makingeggsintheshower.com, Mar 29 2009, 4:23 pm

Pres both of these are/were no brainers. Louisville threw in the towel in the 2nd half. Lawson's toe cant hold up every night. I like OU late in this one.

leafsfreakvt, Mar 29 2009, 4:29 pm

UNC wins by 20...everyone underestimates how good they are and how much of an animal Tyler Hansboro is..he will dominate Griffin mark my words

hahahaha you actually took EP seriously enough that you tried to burn him while undoubtedly laughing at your own ridiculously shitty joke, anyone who actually hangs on EPs picks and wants to take them seriously needs to find themselves something else to do

— elpresidente, Mar 29 2009, 4:01 pm

It is indeed hard work being right one out of ten times. A blind monkey covered in open sores could go 50-50. It takes antitalent to achieve a 10% winning percentage.

dekezucker, Mar 29 2009, 5:44 pm

Actually, if you had half a brain you would have realized it was a "you suck at picking games and life" comment than a 'ridiculously shitty joke'

hopefully after this tournament is over the NCAA will take a long and hard look at possibly stripping Bar Stool Sports of their right to post douche bag articles like this since clearly they don’t deserve it...congrads on being wrong AGAIN!!

cpwhitten, Mar 29 2009, 7:33 pm

Man, I actually made about 27 grand since the first weekend of the tourney (in vegas, now at home on WSEX). Its sad to see EP shoot his wad over and over. Dude cant catch a break. He should spend more time researching games and less time banning me.

Chavv (Yes its me), Mar 29 2009, 7:43 pm

Big East 2. ACC 1. Worried now?

Let's be serious. There is no way EP can be trying to win these games. No one could possibly suck this much.

nodook, Mar 29 2009, 8:48 pm

— langdon1975, Mar 29 2009, 2:09 pm

please sit down and stop embarrassing yourself. blake griffin's one of the most fundamentally sound players in college basketball. he doesn't take many, but griffin's shooting like 38% from behind the arc this year. and he's a good ballhandler for a guy that's 6'10".

bc makes love then cries, Mar 29 2009, 8:54 pm

and chav, you dont need the (yes its me). we can tell by the douchebaggery of your posts. 27 grand? whats that, like 3 years salary for a grocery bagger?

bc makes love then cries, Mar 29 2009, 8:56 pm

Why don't Boston sports fans know more about college b-ball? Having BC and UMass just doesn't do it-- it's the one sport that everyone's blah about it here. It's not just Pres, listen to anyone at a bar here when the subject comes up. Listen to WEEI-- no one knows anything, anything about the sport. Bob Ryan may be the only person within a 50 mile radius who gets why college bball is popular. All this "ACC pussy pussy" crap, like they honestly didn't know how good UNC was with Lawson going.

You're Cut Too, Shushy, Mar 29 2009, 8:57 pm

bc makes love then cries,

eat my grocery bagging asshole

Chavv (Yes its me), Mar 29 2009, 9:46 pm

pres, i love your work but come on man pickin against UNC...the acc is weak but UNC WILL bring home a title, you can bank on it

Buzz11, Mar 29 2009, 9:48 pm

ahh chav, back with the freudian slip in his homoerotic comeback.

bc makes love then cries, Mar 29 2009, 10:40 pm

bc,

C'mon, you are kidding right? yeah he can handle the ball for two dribbles and for the college game he is amazing. One of the best athletes i have ever seen, but fundamentally sound? Great footwork, no moves. Couldn't hit a turn-around jumper to save his life. Or a freethrow. You can shoot 50% from the line if you are Wilt or Shaq, otherwise you have no excuses.

No wonder NBA superstar teams have trouble with Bosnia and Spain or whatever country is hot that year, if Griffin is "fundamentally sound". Griffin is an athlete with limited skills and a bad shot. Soon to be dunking in the great NBA where nobody can hit a 15ft shot when they are wide open. (outside of Ray Allen and Rip Hamilton)

langdon1975, Mar 29 2009, 10:55 pm

and paul pierce and kobe bryant and lebron james and zydrunas ilgauskus and rashad lewis and eddie house and jason kapono and chauncey billups and dwyane wade and david west and kevin durant and joe johnson and michael redd and danny granger and kevin garnett and GLEN DAVIS

weezy F baby, Mar 30 2009, 12:01 am

I just got back form a weekend in Las Vegas, where I crushed it in every game, except for Arizona-Louisville. 7 for 8 baby. As for you, El Pres, let me speak for every North Carolina alum when I tell you to go fuck yourself. Oklahoma? BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
