All Aboard The El Pres 9-3 Freight Train Mortal Locks
Unless you've been living in a cave you probably know that I was 9-3 in the first round. Now while most people would give their dick for that type of performance I'm still not satisfied. Nothing but perfection is good enough for the Stool. So without further ado here are my surefire Saturday Mortal Locks. Anything less than 4-1 will be unacceptable.
Maryland vs. Memphis -10.5
If the tournament has proven anything so far is that’s the ACC is filled with soft, overrated pussy teams like BC who fold like a tent when the going gets tough. So sure Memphis struggled in their opening round game but they’ll bounce back today with an emphatic victory vs. yet another spineless ACC team.
The Pick – Memphis
Michigan vs. Oklahoma – 6.5
Would I bet this game if I didn’t go to Michigan? Probably not. But the facts are I did go to school there so I have no choice. Bottom-line is that it’s tough to blow out Michigan because they play so freaking slow. They just mush the game. As long as they shoot the 3 ball okay they should be in this to the end even though it may not feel like it. It’s time for Michigan to finally re-establish themselves as the best athletic program in the country and a victory today would go a long way in getting there.

LSU vs North Carolina -11.5
If the tournament has proven anything so far is that’s the ACC is filled with soft, overrated pussy teams like BC who fold like a tent when the going gets tough. North Carolina will win this game but LSU will stay within the number.

Western Kentucky vs. Gonzaga -11
Gonzaga is laying 11? Really? That’s freaking nuts. This is a coin flip game in my opinion. In fact I’m almost nervous because this game seems to fucking easy. Don’t think just throw….Don’t think just throw….

Texas vs. Duke -7.5
If the tournament has proven anything so far is that’s the ACC is filled with soft, overrated pussy teams like BC who fold like a tent when the going gets tough. And no team exemplifies this mentality more than Duke. They will be in a fight for their lives tonight against Texas and it wouldn’t surprise me if the Longhorns outright them.

I agree there are MORE quality teams in the Big East but I don't think that has anything to do with any individual teams. The Big East also has 4 more teams compared to the ACC. Meaning more shit teams to beat up on.

If you are an individual team in a crappy overrated conference and didn't dominate it then you are clearly overrated. No way is duke going to make the final four, villanova will beat them easily.
First off, I wouldn't say Nova is going to beat them easily. Did you see the game vs. American?
Duke also played all of the top teams in the conference twice, whereas Nova only played the top teams once (not counting the tourney where they got smoked by UL). Duke also had a much tougher non conference schedule.
So where Duke has an extra game against UNC and Wake Forest (Yes I know they got popped already), Nova is playing Depaul and Rutgers.
After Duke pops Texas we will get to see and won't have to argue with words.
And no Gordon Bombay, Memphis will not cover. They are overrated.
Also look for Umass-Lowell to reach the NCAA Hockey Tournamant with an upset of BU tonight at the Garden.
I think everyone decided to jump on the "Memphis is overrated" bandwagon a little too early. I don't think they have what it takes to get to the Final Four, but they ain't no dog.

Michigan is so far from the best athletic program - and frankly never will be (nor will any school north of the Mason-Dixon line) - it's laughable. Worry about the Big Ten, that's all you've got.

The ACC is overrated, but no conference has sucked more dick this year than the SEC. There is no way LSU can hang with UNC. The Big 12 is nasty and OU will dominate Michigan.

yeah oklahoma city thunder probably had huge odds to win the nba championship this year, still doesn't make it a good bet.
I love how folks say the ACC is overrated/pussies...but for the first time in maybe 10 years the Big East is ranked as a tougher conference of the two according to computer ratings. And you have to factor in the ACC took bottom feeders Va Tech and Miami fromthe Big East and was still ranked ahead of the Big East until this year. And as far as I can tell the ACC leads the Big East 3-2 in national championships since the decade started.

Nah... just happened to be a Penn State & Florida alum working for Michigan, so I know that they all go bonkers around Ann Arbor when the softball team did well... and the Gator boards joke about how "damn, we're even good at sports we don't give a shit about, like softball" ... Cleveland State Destroys Wake Forest....
Cleveland State absolutely annihilated Wake Forest tonight. I mean this game was a blowout from the opening tip to the final whistle. Who could have saw this one coming? Oh wait a minute...I did. I almost forgot for a minute there that I'm a college basketball genius. 9-3 vs the spread speaks for itself. Where are all the haters now?

Cleveland State has been a team I’ve been keeping my eye on for the past month. And even before the brackets came out I knew I was going to pick them no matter what. Mark my words they are going to be the darling of this tournament. There isn’t a doubt in my mind that they not only win this game but they get to at least the Sweet 16 and maybe even the Great 8. This team has been very good all year. They beat Syracuse at Syracuse. They beat Butler at Butler for the conference championship and they should have beaten them the game before as well. If you like money and betting games where the spread is never in doubt then this is the game for you. It’s what we refer to here around the Stool as a “tshirt game”
