Another weekend, and another back-to-back, for the Celtics has come and gone with the Celtics looking totally different in two games... while winning both. 

Philly got the Jules treatment on Friday night.  It was a domination so brutal, the SVU is still investigating.  Philly was fucked from the start.  The Celtics defense dominated, Ray Allen couldn't miss, Rajon Rondo made his case to make the All Star game, and every starter played less than 31 minutes.

They were set up to carry that effort over to Charlotte... but the 6th back-to-back of the month (they've got no more than 3 per month from now on) was apparently too much.  The C's came out flat, and stayed that way in a game with no discernable flow or feel.  But in typical C's fashion, they found a way to win.  Paul Pierce woke up in the last couple of minutes to carry the C's just far enough.  Tony Allen was huge off the bench, and Kendrick Perkins stepped up with a big double-double... and 3 more blocked shots.

So this weekend has reinforced something we've seen all year long:  You can pick whichever kind of game you want... the Celtics are going to win.  They ran with Golden State, they banged with Detroit, they dispatched a "challenger" in Philly, and they sleep-walked through the back end of back-to-backs... and they've won them all.  Hell... Scal is even getting meaningful minutes and producing.

Last year, we went into December 13-2.  This year, with a more grueling schedule, a lot more rest for the starters, and nowhere near the "clicking on all cylinders" type of play that we can expect later in the season... the Celtics are 16-2.

Maybe when the Bruins are done with their parade... the duck boats can just loop back around and pick up the Celtics for theirs.
