Is it Wrong for a Guy to Narc on a T Driver For Putting His Kids Behind the Wheel of a Trolley?

The Herald: A trolley driver who was caught by a passenger on camera with two of his family’s children behind the wheel has been fired, MBTA officials said yesterday. The incident came to the T’s attention after a passenger posted the photographs on craigslist, claiming the driver was operating an outbound Green Line trolley with the children at 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 1. T officials contacted the photographer and identified the driver, who acknowledged last week that he had his young son and nephew with him at work on Labor Day, T spokesman Joe Pesaturo said. “I don’t take any joy in the firing of the driver,” Michael Critz, who took the photographs, said yesterday.

Let me say first that I'm no rat. On my block we live by the creed " Snitches get stitches and wind up in ditches." That's how I roll. But right is right and wrong is wrong. And a T driver observing "Take Your Kids to Work and Let Put Them at the Controls of a Deadly Locomotive Day" is objectively, unambiguously wrong. Though I'll concede the fact that after the last couple of years the Green Line has had, maybe the public was better off. At least these kids weren't texting anyone or high on prescription meds while they were putting their hands all over the throttle and the emergency brake. Which begs the question of whether Micheal Critz was wrong to take pictures of the guy and get him fired. It's a tough call. I look at it this way: Critz posted the pictures on his blog. And anything that makes your blog more entertaining is fair game.

Anyway rate Michael Critz' morality. "10" for "He's a hero" and "1" for "Rat bastard."
