Rate the Herald Apology

Boston Herald - On Feb. 2, 2008, the Boston Herald reported that a member of the New England Patriots[ team stats]’ video staff taped the St. Louis Rams’ walk through on the day before Super Bowl XXXVI. While the Boston Herald based its Feb. 2, 2008, report on sources that it believed to be credible, we now know that this report was false, and that no tape of the walk through ever existed. Prior to the publication of its Feb. 2, 2008, article, the Boston Herald neither possessed nor viewed a tape of the Rams’ walk through before Super Bowl XXXVI, nor did we speak to anyone who had. We should not have published the allegation in the absence of firmer verification. The Boston Herald regrets the damage done to the team by publication of the allegation, and sincerely apologizes to its readers and to the New England Patriots [ team stats]’ owners, players, employees and fans for our error.
NOT GOOD ENOUGH! In terms of apologies I rank this as a 2. First of all I don't like how on the front page of the Herald it says "We Own Up To Our Mistake" like they deserve a cookie for finally coming forward. I felt like I was at a press conference where an athlete reads an apology from a script and could care less about what they're reading. The Herald did this just so people will stop boycotting their asses. And where is that fat fuck Tomase in all of this? Is he going to get suspended? Or is the Herald just saying "Oops, our bad. We'll try not to fuck up next time the Pats are in the Superbowl." I mean come on! People have to be held accountable! Bottomline is that just saying sorry is not enough. Tomase has to be punished before we can move on.
Vote 1 for worst apology ever. Vote 10 with you're cool with it.
