I have been pondering the following question for the last couple days.    If the Celtics win championship this year does that make up for the fact that the Pats choked away the Superbowl?   As crazy at it sounds I think the answer is yes.    I kind of look at professional sports in Boston as a group effort.    The Celtics, Red Sox and Patriots and to a lesser degree the Bruins are all in this thing together.    Their job is to win championships and make the rest of America our bitch.    So yeah while the Pats losing the Superbowl definitely sucked, if the Celts win the title, that loss will be nothing more than a bump in the road.    We just had to push back the parade a couple months.    No big deal.    I mean we’re still collecting championships at warp speed.   The Red Sox are still the team of the century in baseball.  The Patriots are still the team of the century in football.   And the Celtics will be back in their rightful spot as the best franchise in the history of the NBA.  It’s really unbelievable when you think about it. I mean how one city can dominate the rest of the world like we do.  It must be so frustrating to be a sports fan and not live in Boston.  We’re like the Roman Empire for god sakes.   It's no wonder the rest of the country hates us.    I’d hate Boston to if I didn’t live here.     Everybody is jealous of us because they want to be us.    And nothing will reinforce this fact more than the Celts hanging banner #17 from the rafters this year.

PS - Are the Celtics really selling Atlantic Division Champion shirts? This is almost as bad as the UMass selling NIT runner up shirts. You have to be a total nutbag to buy one of these. On the flip side of the coin you have to be a total nutbag not to buy one of our Kevin McHale 6th Man of the Year shirts.
