Last week espn.com’s Bill Finley wrote an article on Peruvian 3 year old super horse Tomcito and referred to him as a “mystery horse”.  First off, how is Tomcito considered a "mystery horse" when he’s already on Youtube? Doesn’t seeing him kind of take the mystery out of the equation?  Anyway after watching the above video, I’m definitely intrigued by Tomcito. I know it’s all in Espanol, but pay close attention to the horse in dead last on the FAR outside when they make the turn for home.

Wait for him, keep waiting for him...

Dios Mio, talk about procrastination? It’s just not normal for a 2 year old to make a move like that - I don’t care where he’s from.  If you have 30 seconds, check out the stretch run of this race.  You never know, Tomcito could win the Kentucky Derby and this could be like watching Big Papi playing stickball as a kid...

...Or he could never win another race in his life and wind up at Suffolk this summer as an also-ran during Barstool’s next Wiffleball party.

Obviously it’s too early to tell, but for Tomcito’s sake, let’s hope it’s not the latter. 

Note: Tomcito will likely make his 2008 debut in either the Florida Derby or the UAE Derby, both scheduled for March 29.
