OC – A brand new Lamborghini Murcielago LP64 would cost you over $400,000, but in China you can buy one that looks almost identical for only $65,000. The Chinese love to build their own Lamborghini sport cars, probably because the original ones sold in China tend to break down a lot. The latest Lamborghini replica to come out of the rising Asian country is of the stunning Murcielago LP64, and is probably the best one yet. Refered to as the Shanzai Lamborghini, this impressive looking vehicle is said to be 99% identical to the original on the outside, while the interior is “only” 70% identical. Still, the price tag of 420,000 yuan ($65,000) is unbeatable for this kind of car. Only you’re not really buying a piece of Italian engineering, but a really well modified Toyota MR2.
Not really a car guy myself, and even less of a Chinese knockoff guy. But tell me this thing doesn’t look legit. Sure girls might realize you’re not actually a millionaire when they step inside your Lambo and see Wawa iced tea cartons and losing scratch-off tickets all over your passenger seat. Sure sluts you pick up from the club may not be happy with the lead poisoning they got from your off-brand Lamborghini doors. Sure it probably sounds closer to a vacuum cleaner than an expensive piece of Italian automotive genius. But does it matter? By that time your plan had already come to fruition. The bait had already worked its magic.
So — if you had the money — would you buy this fake Lambo over a regular $65k car?
