Now before I begin let me make this very clear…Stephen A. Smith is a dear, dear friend. We once enjoyed an intimate beach sunset in Ocean City together hand-in-hand before buying salt water taffy and feeding Alka Seltzer tabs wrapped in curly fries to the seagulls. We’ve bathed together in heterosexual bliss on more than one occasion. I know this man like he were my own flesh and blood. Having said that, there is NO REASON why STEPHEN A. SMITH should be talking hockey on ESPN ever. EVER. This is the producer’s fault. Whoever booked this segment had a Nnamdi Asomugha-like meltdown in mental coverage.
It’s not like this is even Stephen A’s thing. He’s a basketball and football guy. The person who should be most embarrassed here is Sara Walsh who made zero attempt to fulfill her duties as the lone white person on camera and correct the man on his mistake. Stephen A. Smith doesn’t have time to watch hockey; he’s far too busy being dear, dear friends with half of the NBA and making sure his hairline doesn’t slip off the back of his head. No time to study hockey rules. Sara Walsh, on the other hand, should know better.
Stephen A. is fucking awful covering ANY sport let alone one he doesnt even know the rules of. If i wanted to hear braindead retards scream endlessly i'd just type "brutal" into the youjizz searchbar
Can NBC sports just please take the sport tv helm away from goddamn ESPN, that channel has become a absolute 24/7 sideshow with plenty of ABC/Disney ads in-between
He is actually correct though. They get a point for a tie. that counts towards their streak. Therefore, he is correct. I know a game can't end in a tie but his point was that the streak survives because ties allocate a point. I hate him as much as the next guy and ESPN can get off Lebron's dick but still. he is right
gonna get killed for saying this because i know how much you hockey guys love rallying against anybody saying something bad about it...but anybody who's saying he's a dumbass and how there are no "ties" in hockey is actually strengthening the entire point of his argument. you're right, there aren't any ties...the blackhawks have LOST. 3 Times! granted they were in a shootout but by saying there's no such thing as a tie is just further strengthening his argument that the heat's streak is more impressive, because you are simply saying the blackhawks have lost.
regardless of the fact that the hawks have lost, they are still the record holders of the point streak to start a season. Stephen A is a dumbass and should be fired
