This Is LeBron James’ Cell Phone Background Picture

SI – [LeBron James] revealed on Wednesday that the screensaver of his phone is a Photoshop image of himself handling the ball while guarded by Michael Jordan in his prime. “Jordan was my superhero growing up,” James said. “He was the guy I feel helped me get to where I am today. As a competitor, who would not want to go against the best? That’s like asking [Tom] Brady would he want to go against Montana in the fourth quarter.”

Wasn’t Bron not long ago working to distance himself from MJ? Changed his number and all that.

The whole idea of LeBron using Jordan as a motivating factor so much that he looks at MJ trying to D him up every time he checks a text baffles me a bit. Is Jordan the guy LeBron has to surpass to be one day universally accepted as the best basketball player ever? Of course. But there are a number of players already in the way, one of which is named Kobe Bean Bryant. Kobe’s still ahead of LeBron in the all-time discussion, AND has 4 more rings than him (two of which were won while James was in the league). One at a time, Bron Bron.

Motivation is great. This is corny.

Lebron might be a douche, but he is head and shoulder above Bryant as a player. Kobe has never had a Finals series like the one James had last year. If riding a big guy to three titles, then winning two with the best team in the league makes you great, then I'm sure Bryant is awesome. Bryant can't make anyone better. Give him scrubs and he misses the playoffs. Give Lebron scrubs and he wins 66 games and takes a team once to the Finals. Slight difference there.
