ESPN – The Seattle Seahawks have agreed to a deal with free agent wide receiver Terrell Owens, the team announced Monday night. Sources told ESPN’s Ed Werder that Owens received a one-year deal worth $1 million. Owens had a very impressive workout Monday in Seattle, running the 40 in 4.45 seconds, according to sources. On Monday night, Owens took to Twitter saying, “God is good. Thankful. Grateful. To ALL my new teammates & the “12th Man”… Let’s Do This!! ” Pete Carroll, Owens’ new coach, also used Twitter to welcome the newest addition to his team, writing: “@terrellowens welcome to the land of the #12thMan Terrell, see you in the morning… 8am meetings!!” Owens hasn’t played in the NFL since the 2010 season with Cincinnati when he caught 72 passes for 983 yards and nine touchdowns. The 38-year-old Owens didn’t get any NFL offers to play last season after surgery on his left knee.
Here’s the thing about TO: he’s never not produced. Never not not never produced. Look at his career stats:
Never not. Even when he was on the BILLS he managed to 55 catches for 800 and 5 scores. And Terrell was already like 45 years old then. I don’t know everything, but if there’s something I know it’s that Terrell Owens will be able to play football forever because he sleeps in a chamber and spends all his non-reality TV free time doing ab workouts.
Sure, some asshole at the draft will laugh when you pick him, but as with everything it’s only the last laugh that counts. If you can snag him late, especially as the morons around you are drafting stuff like backup quarterbacks and the Ravens defense, you’ll be laughing in November and December. Knee surgery or not, 50 years old or not, TO will get his. Especially on a team whose only other options are Sidney Rice and Golden Tate. And he’s playing for child support? AND he gets to wear those crazy new Nike Seahawks uniforms? Comeback of the year.
