This is exactly why celebrities should stay the shit away from politics. There are people out there stupid enough to believe Samuel L. Jackson’s every word just because they thought he was bad ass in The Avengers. If he were to say “Mitt Romney castrates Mexican children and feeds their genitals in taco shells to his dogs who are also on his payroll and make more money than you ever will in your lifetime” some people out there would believe it. I mean, come on, Samuel, at least make it funny. If Jackson came out in this video and said some things backed up with, I don’t know, facts and statistics, then it would be a little more credible. But, nope, he’s just using his celebrity to say general things like “Mitt Romney hates the poor and will send jobs overseas.” Even if he is right it means shit because there’s nothing to back it up. He should’ve just read Ezekiel 25 17 and simply say “Vote Barry O Muthafuckas.” Votes ahoy.

PS – Still probably voting for Obama. Will never cast my vote for a man who has never had a beer in his entire life and is so rich he’s amazed by the common folk’s “Wawas.” Shear lunacy.

sweetchuck, it's not quite that cut and dry. first off, race is given to you; religion is chosen. to be real, i think ANYONE who subscribes to ANY religion is a little tapped. but i respect it in almost every case, cuz i'd never be so arrogant to say that i know for sure if there's a god. but for me, i've read the bible, and it seems to be mostly well-intentioned fairy tales designed to keep the primitive masses in order by scaring them into good behavior for fear of some unseen, intangible judge. but that's just my estimation, i could be dead wrong. but Mormonism is absolutely batshit crazy. Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Buddhism...all thousands of years old. That type of shit i can at least leave a shadow of a doubt in their legitimacy. The religion argument is a very weak one. Mitt Romney has an MBA/JD from Harvard. He founded a private equity firm that made him roughly $200 million. He became governor of Massachusetts. His faith has never been a detriment to his success. Yet all of sudden you think that at age 65 he's going to become a religious zealot and use the presidency to further the LDS movement? Point to one poor decision he has made in his life because of his religion and I'll allow you your point. Otherwise I want it stricken from the record as hearsay.

Winston Churchcill put it best, "The best argument against democracy is a five-minute conversation with the average voter." Romney's success in large part is due to being born with a silver spoon in his mouth. That's not to say he doesn't have some notable accoumplishments and has done some good things but he was born into politics. He also stores the vast majority of his fortune overseas where it doesn't get taxed, so if he believes that this country of ours is so great why doesn't he keep his money here? That "Wawas" story is not a lie perpetuated by the mainstream media it actually happened so not sure where you got that from. Romney did himself no favors with the 47% statement either. Obama inherited one of the worst financial shitstorms this country, and the world, has ever seen so I don't believe it fair to lay the blame squarely on his shoulders. He has certainly fucked up some stuff along the way but let's not pretend he hasn't done any good either. Name 1 president who has done everything in office that he swore to do in his campaign. Instead of turning into black vs. mormon you could always look at the issues and see who you agree with but maybe that makes a little too much sense. It doesn't really matter who you vote for anyway since the popular vote doesn't factor into who wins the election and unless any stoolies are in the electoral college I'd say you're all wasting you time arguing about it.

It's not that I think he'd try to further the LDS movement per se. But he would be imposing his fucked up values on us, intentionally or not. Telling chicks they can't have abortions and telling gay people they can't get married, that ain't right. Sure, he's far from the first to do that; even some liberals can't have that in their platform regardless of what they believe for fear of losing the religious/ignorant vote. But one thing that doesn't impress me is education. I'm not saying we should have Mike Tyson in the white house on a GED. But make no mistake, the Ivy Leagues are largely a good ol' boy network. My dad went to Boston University at night. He had a friend who went to Harvard full-time. One time, he took a old paper that his Harvard buddy got an A on, re-typed it, and passed it in at BU. came back a C+. the Ivy Leagues just keep rich people rich, especially back in the day. But the point is, maybe you prefer his fiscal policies to Obama's. That's fine. The policies might be fine. But there are like-minded guys out there that DON'T believe that Native Americans are Jews whose skin was turned red as a punishment from god. If anything, it just shocks me that the Republican party would nominate this guy instead of someone who doesn't think god is an extraterrestrial. Just makes you question literally every other thought he could possibly have.

Obama started with something bad and made it worse. The guy's cabinet was completely devoid (and still is) of anyone with business experience, and what's the first thing he does when he gets into office? Passes ObamaCare, which eventually will become the most expensive spending bill in history. Even though it won't kick in for a couple of more years, it sent a clear signal to businesses that the federal government was going to expect the private sector to pick up the bill. When you know a storm is coming, you close the shutters and lock up the house nice and tight and conserve what assets you have. You don't take risks. That's exactly what the vast majority of businesses did. No company hiring + no company spending = toilet time for economy.
