This all sounds so familiar. It’s like I’m having quarterback controversy déjà vu. Let’s see what Google has to say:

Philly.com – Amid speculation that he and the front office may not be in full agreement about the Eagles’ quarterback situation, Andy Reid once again threw his support behind Donovan McNabb today.
“I haven’t changed my opinion, and I don’t think they [Joe Banner and Howie Roseman] have either,” Reid told Mike Missanelli on 97.5 The Fanatic. “They’ve agreed and mentioned kind of the same things I’ve said. Donovan’s our quarterback.”Reid is the decider, and he’s unwavering in his decision: Kevin Kolb is his starter and Michael Vick is Kolb’s backup.
“That’s now what’s happening,” Reid said today when asked about the budding quarterback controversy, per Jordan Raanan of CSNPhilly.com. “Kevin Kolb is the No. 1 quarterback.”
Hmm. Maybe these aren’t necessarily adaptable to the current team’s situation, but the fact remains that Reid has said very similar things before and they turned out to be untrue. Donovan was traded a month after the first statement and Kolb was benched a week after the second. These things change and bet that Andy said what he originally said very purposefully. The blowback was probably more than anticipated so he had to quell the uprising, but the fact remains that the scale is tipping from Vick to Foles and Mike is the only one with the power to slow it down.
