Nats Enquirer – A quick check of online ticket aggregator TiqIQ.com on Friday night shows more than 9,000 tickets and counting available on the secondary market (StubHub, eBay, etc.) for the May 4-6 “Take Back The Park” Nationals-Phillies series at Nationals Park. The good news is, the old, fading, Phillies will probably trail the first place Nats by at least 10 games by then…
Who would have thought a bunch of fans in the Washington area would choose marginal profit over reclaiming their ballpark for themselves? Oh, wait…everybody thought that? My mistake –everybody thought that.
It’s a shame, too, because that sight of a half-empty stadium filled with overzealous Jayson Werth jerseys walking their way up the exit ramps could have been the perfect picture for the Nationals thus far. Not to make fun of their efforts — in all honesty I respect the dude for making an attempt to try to take back what rightfully should’ve already been his. But you can’t pick fights with the biggest bully in school when you don’t have shit to back it up. Your fans aren’t our fans or the fans of any winning organization yet. Maybe try winning a few games before staking your claim all over the internet.
Oh, and “Nats Enquirer” — I’ll await that moment when “the old, fading, Phillies will probably trail the first place Nats by at least 10 games”. You let me know when that happens.
