In all earnestness — and I use that word instead of ‘honesty’ because of Ernest — this letter completely sold me. Maybe it’s because I don’t get the chance to read over many prison judge forgiveness notes, but Vick sounded sincere and genuinely ashamed of what he did. Which any Eagles fan with working eyes and ears can tell you has pretty much been the case with Vick since his release. Is the guy a Saint? Of course not — he’s got neck tats and a Superman emblem on the back of his hand. But by all accounts he is a decent man who had his life reformed because of an unfortunate series of events. It’s a worthwhile read to better understand who the real Michael Vick is, you know, besides a dude who fumbles a lot and will be playing for the Cardinals next year.
Yet the very best part of any of these has to be George Foreman’s opening paragraph:
“Dear Judge Hudson:
I’m a fulltime minister at the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ in Houston, Texas, former two-time Heavyweight Champion of the world, and known all over the world as the king of the grills because of the George Foreman Lean Mean Fat Reducing Grilling Machine.”
Motherfuckin George Foreman. Peep his stats:
