   You've gotta judge championships in the era they happened.  Russell was pre-merger, and the NBA was completely different back then.  In the "modern era"/post-merger NBA Jordan is the best ever.

    Or how about the fact that 6 teams in the league make the competition that much greater (which it was), making wins and chamionships that much harder.  And 11 c'mon guy, im not sayin bill was the best all time (because Jordan was) but Bill Russell was a god among men back then and would be better than anyone who plays the game today
