Thank God for Nova and La Salle this week. The vast majority of us didn’t even go to those schools but their big wins are just enough to keep most of the Delaware Valley from vertically slicing our wrists and bleeding out sports sadness until the icy grip of death takes us from this living hell.
Sixers stink, have zero continuity, and are injured. Flyers are 0-3, suspended, and injured. Eagles stink and the only thing the new coach knows about Philadelphia is Wing Bowl. Phillies are old and signing crazy anti-semitic fat dudes. There literally isn’t anywhere else to turn but college hoops.
So thank you Villanova and La Salle — we really, really needed this.
