This is a video of the live demo that was at ION GNSS 2012 September 17-21. Using 17 YEI 3-Space Wireless Sensors and 3 3-Space Wireless Dongles motions from an actor can be applied to a mesh in real-time and can be used to interact with a virtual scene. Adding a HMD to the suit allows for an immersive first-person experience with head and body tracking.
Doesn’t matter if it’s physically impossible to walk around that virtual world since homeboy is in a real room with real wires attached to his face, but I’m 1,000% ready to hand over all of my FanDuel winnings for this machine right now. I don’t even like first person shooters that much but how long have we as Americans been waiting for a legit virtual reality machine? Since like Denzel Washing Virtuosity at LEAST.
Sign me up. And get me take an open room, a gun, and some CGI nudity STAT.
