DM – A teacher accused of writing anti-gay comments on Facebook has resigned after 21 years in the job. Jenye ‘Viki’ Knox caused widespread controversy a year ago when she compared homosexuality to cancer and said her school was ‘going to hell in a handbasket’. Now it has been revealed that she quit her job over the summer and is claiming a disability pension for ‘psychological’ reasons. Ms Knox is a committed Christian who advised the Bible study group at Union High School in Union Township, New Jersey. Last September the 51-year-old was placed on leave after taking to Facebook to denounce the school’s plans to celebrate Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender History Month. ‘Why parade your unnatural immoral behaviors before the rest of us?’, she wrote, adding that homosexuality was ‘perverted’ and a ‘sin’ which ‘breeds like cancer’. The School Board told the Star-Ledger on Tuesday that Ms Knox had submitted her resignation over the summer and that settlement talks are currently under way.The tenured special education teacher, who had worked in Union Township since 2000, had been suspended from her $72,270-a-year job ever since the beginning of the Facebook controversy. She has said in court papers that she plans to seek a disability pension due to a back injury and on ‘psychological grounds’.
This is why nobody should vote for either Romney or Obama. On the one hand Romney supporters will fight to protect this woman’s right to publicly say bigoted things against gay people in the name of God and make outlandish claims comparing homosexuality to a disease responsible for killing 7.8 million humans a year. On the other Obama supporters will fight to protect a union teacher’s right to claim a publicly-funded disability pension for something as silly as ‘psychological reasons’. Either choice instantly makes you a bad person.
I’m all for teachers and I’m all for freedom of speech, but everything this lady stands for makes me hate her, the people who brainwashed her into thinking it’s okay to slander minors, and myself for allowing this braindead slut to have a louder public voice than mine. Stealing MY tax dollars so you can retire in homophobic paradise? Suck a fat gay dick, Viki Knox. Psychological reasons? Bitch did you even SEE what those kids said to that bus monitor lady? A few hoodie-wearing high school lesbians aren’t possibly causing you that much damage.

72,000.00 per year. So she works 5 hours a day for 180 days for a total of 900 hours per year giving her an hourly pay rate of $80.00. Teachers are the most insufferable bunch of humans on the planet. And, most of them are just straight up real world dumb. And the complaining they do. GOD THE COMPLAINING!
edrooney, if it was just that easy. Most work every night until 10pm and spend a small fortune on classroom supplies to boot...so you roll-out @ 5:00am and babysit someone else's shithead kids for 7 hours and then go home and wade through their mistakes for 4-5 hours a night and deal with loser parents and loser administration people and then have some societal failures call you 'overpaid'...there isn't enough money on earth for me to do that job. Those people are born to do that job.
5. Some professionals do 900 hours in 9 weeks, pal. Then they have 43 weeks left in their year. Save it for your teacher friends. You guys are like prima donna movie stars complaining that they had to be on set for 12 straight hours...GASP...every day for 4 weeks and they only made 20 mil. You can always have a damn bake sale outside of the Big Y to buy your crayons.

I'd be less aggravated with this woman if she would just come clean and admit that she doesn't feel like working any more. Or at the very least, do what the rest of America does and fake a back injury.
