Make no mistake: I’m a training camp nerd. Watching live coverage on philadelphiaeagles.com as we speak somehow subduing the suicidal thoughts that fly through my brain as I’m forced to listen to Dave Spadaro. Anyway, there are a bunch of takeaways from this early camp thus far, including Dion Lewis impressing, Rodgers-Cromartie intercepting everything in sight, and Mychal Kendricks looking like the real deal at OLB. But bigger than anything so far has been how impressive this defensive line can look at times, more specifically the play of oft-critiqued former first round pick DE Brandan Graham. In the plainest language possible — he’s killing it. Finally healthy from that knee injury from over a year ago and going full speed beating everyone in 1-on-1 and 11-on-11 drills. He mentioned that there was a clip on YouTube of him throwing up 500 pounds (5 plates on each side) during the offseason in one of his interviews. So, you know, here it is.
Maybe he can make us hate the Birds’ decision to pick him over Jason Pierre-Paul a little less this season.
