Swagger is a helluva drug. People do crazy things when they can’t get their hands on that inner confidence. Things like losing a 10 game lead and getting dangerously close to dropping out of the playoff race. But, as Nick Swisher so eloquently stated, “it’s just chill” now, which is good, because for a second there, I was worried it wasn’t chill. But it is chill so we’re okay. The Yankees have played the last week with the exact confidence Swisher is talking about. The pitching is coming around, offense is picking up, and Ichiro is so fucking sexy. I don’t fuck guys and I’m not particularly attracted to Asians, but when that little cat-eyed bastard glides down to first after a base hit to left, spraying sex all over everybody’s shit, I start looking for stuff in the room to grind my half hard dick against. Armchairs, pillows, the bag of warm water in between the mattress trick. Now the team needs to refocus on an actual contender with the A’s coming into town, while we as fans keep an eye on the Orioles who haven’t lost a game in about 2 months. Raise your hand if you thought that on September 21st you’d be concerned about the playoff contending A’s and keeping an eye on the Orioles. Now lower your hand and ask yourself why you just lied.
