For the first time in a long time, Big Blue didn’t need a miracle from the arm of their MVP. After Amukamara’s pick in the first quarter, Eli did his best ‘Denzel in Training Day’ impression – he was “surgical with this bitch”. Completed 9 straight for 151 & 10 points. Outside of that, though, he actually sucked. 6-19, 42 yards & shit the bed in drives that started at the SF 12 & 5 thanks to a pair of picks by Antrelle Rolle. Even threw a ball right off the chest of a Niners DB in the red zone. Didn’t matter. His offensive line kept his uniform spotless with 0 sacks, Frisco couldn’t close their hands on any potential picks & the G-Men beat a supposed NFC force without their biggest weapon. Pounded the ball down their throats instead & took free points off great field position created by the defense to put away any doubt who the better team is. Carlos Rogers shared his slice of humble pie with everyone, saying “We aren’t the king of the NFL. The Giants are. The Giants are still the team to beat.” Damn straight.
Now it gets interesting. Although, at 4-2, they lead the NFC East and are near the top of the conference, their 2 losses are to Dallas & Philly. Next up are the ‘Skins at home & a trip to Texas. Gotta go at least .500 in the division, so these next couple matchups are bigger than their decimation of SF. Before I pretend to worry about Jerry Jones’ quest for more glory hole, I’m gonna legitimately shit my pants over RGIII. Dude is scary. He’s essentially Michael Vick in his prime without the turnovers. In his last 3 games, he’s completed almost 70% of his passes & just ran for 138 & 2 yesterday. Kept his Redskins in striking distance against undefeated ATL a couple weeks ago until he got knocked the fuck out. As far as individual players are concerned, who’s a bigger threat than this kid? Knowing that and the Giants’ home woes, it’ll be interesting to see if Big Blue remembered to pack their all-around game with them for the flight back to New York. They’re gonna need it…and Eli, too.
