Rex Ryan Will Be Joining ESPN Sunday NFL Countdown
NYDN- The Daily News has learned that ESPN has signed Rex Ryan to a multi-year deal to be on Sunday NFL Countdown. Ryan appeared on the show as a guest analyst on Super Bowl Sunday. He will be a permanent fixture in studio now.
Crazy how the Football Gods can play with our emotions. They take away an angel like Boomer Berman from our living rooms every Sunday only to replace him with Rumblin’ Stumblin’ Bumblin’ Rex Ryan. Will it be the same? Of course not. We will be trading in Eagles lyrics and stories of being at Candlestick for The Catch for what I imagine will be some Lynyrd Skynyrd and tales of trying to bring home a tall red head from a bar at 4 am. Oh yeah and now there is a real chance Rob Ryan heads to the Mothership to watch football with the boys and eat at the most infamous cafeteria in all of Bristol.
I’m happy for ESPN. I’m happy for Rex Ryan. But most of all, I’m happy for Dan Katz. Who knows what the next few weeks of March Madness have in store for his wallet. But I know his heart will be in a better place with Rex unofficially being tabbed to fill Boomer’s sizable shoes.
