A-Rod And The Yankees Finally Had A Meeting

YES – “Today we held a meeting at Yankee Stadium between Hal Steinbrenner, Randy Levine, Brian Cashman, Jean Afterman, Alex Rodriguez and Jim Sharp. Alex initiated the meeting and apologized to the organization for his actions over the past several years.

“There was an honest and frank discussion on all of the issues. As far as the Yankees are concerned, the next step is to play baseball in spring training.”

A-Rod you silver tongued fox! Sometimes thats all it takes, just saying “My bad” and making it seem like you mean it. What else did you think was going to happen? He was going to agree to give up his bonuses? Are you fucking mental? That was never going to happen for a few reasons.

1) We are talking about millions of dollars to a guy that has made millions but has literally no earning potential in the public spotlight ever again. No company is going to give him endorsements, no team is going to bring him in as a coach, nobody is going ot touch this guy with a 10 foot pole. You don’t give up money in that situation.

2) The players union would never let it happen. Doesn’t matter who he sued in the past or what he put in his body, players giving up money for any reason hurts the player union. Yes these guys make millions but the owners are making billions so giving up that leverage would put them at a bigger disadvantage.

Besides this four sentence statement nothing else was going ot come out of this meeting. This was just a place for Alex to say he was sorry and would try really hard, the Yankees to say they were willing to work with him and Alex’s lawyer to remind everyone that his client is going to get paid.
